He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Schellens and Catherine Avery Schellens; and his sister Catherine Schellens Schmeisser. He is survived by: his wife Lila Grassi; and his adoptive son Matti (Marya Tammi) of Finland. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
