He was predeceased by : his father John W. Moon, Jr.; and his brother Richard. He is survived by : his mother Orchis Shaw Moon of Groton; his children, Robert A Moon, Jr. of Norwich, Jessica Moon of Moosup and Rachel Lindstrom of Lakebay, WA; and his siblings, Scott, Randy, Willard and Carolyn Scott.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, May 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Starr Burying Ground (231 Lestertown Rd, Groton, CT 06340). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 18th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Par Four Restaurant (93 Plant St, Groton, CT 06340).
