He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine Ackley; his daughter Dina Umrysz; his brother Guenther; and his sister-in-law Anne Hespeler. He is survived by: his son Ted Jr. (Maryellen); his grandchildren, Ted III and Cara; his children, Daniel, Katy, Michael, KC, James, Erin, Tawnie, Bryce Carlson and Stephen; his grandson Steven; his son Rich (Geri); his grandchildren, Katie, Jason Quinlan, Susan, Robbie Isif, Jay and Lucas; his children, Genevieve-Ashley Spitale and John (Luanne); his grandchildren, Tyler and Hope; his children, Jessica, Trey Poff and Chloe; and his son-in-law Lee Umrysz. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Groton Little League, a place that meant so much to him.
