He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Herbst and Elfrieda Herbst Freeman (Buchholtz); and his sister Gertrude Arnot. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Herbst (Cronogue); his daughters, Deborah Herbst (Eric Watsky) and Patricia Pallman (Scott); and his granddaughter Elizabeth Pallman.
