He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Bowen and Alice Freeman Bowen; his great-aunt Hazel Bowen; and his brothers, Robert and Gaylord Bowen.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara L. Bowen; his children, Allan, Jr. of Hamden, CT, Tonja Bowen of West Haven, CT and LaChelle Bowen of New Haven, CT; his sisters, Augustina Howard of Florida and Deborah Hernandez of Hamden; his grandchildren, Domonique (Kemp), Dajon (Briyana) and KeJuan Bowen; and his godsons, Steven Lassiter and Jamal Bines of West Haven, CT..
