With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Allen K. Solomon Jr. of Hamden, Connecticut, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on September 7, 2022 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen K. Solomon, Sr. and Annette Solomon; his daughter Sharnita Solomon; and his siblings, Jacqueline Leaper, Lesse Williams, Marian Irving, Patty Solomon, Sandra Dawson and Don Turner of Des Moines, IA..
He is survived by: his children, Sharron Solomon-McCarthy (Jesse), Emeth Solomon of New Haven, CT and Juan Solomon of Maryland; his grandsons, Tyler of New Haven, CT, Hunter McCarthy of New Haven, CT, Jahmal of New Haven, CT, Javon of New Haven, CT and Jaylin Solomon of New Haven, CT; his sister Shirley Harper (Otis) of Des Moines, Iowa; and his close friend Helen Clay. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church Scholarship Fund.
