He was predeceased by : his parents, Mercedes Moragon and Rafael Hortas. He is survived by : his wife Jan Dougherty Hortas; his children, Laura, Sarah and Carlos; his sister Wilma; his grandchildren, Robert Blue, Mercedes Hortas, Emma Harris and Ethan Harris; and his niece Darlene Giol.
