Carmela Malard Obituary
We announce the death of Carmela Malard of Hamden, Connecticut, who passed away on October 23, 2026, at the age of 99. Carmela will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Edward Malard; her parents, Nicholas Tangredi and Theresa DiGioia Tangredi; and her siblings, Nicholas, Bernard, Joseph, Ann Tangredi and Mary Velardi.
She is survived by: her daughter Charlene Ruggiero (Philip Panagrossi); her nieces, Joann, Elaine, Irene and Maria; her caregivers, Viviana, Lisa, Carole, Marcia, Anna, Lakeisha and Dawn; Frances DeFonzo.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home (2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden, CT 06518). A Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (2819 Whitney Ave, Hamden, CT 06518). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at the All Saints Cemetery (700 Middletown Ave, North Haven, CT 06473).
