He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Grave; his children, Ted Grave of Hamden, Frederick D. Grave IV (Sally) of Cheshire and Dorothy Hoyt (William) of North Haven; his grandchildren, Peter (Allie), Laura, Frederick V (Vidya), Charlie, Amelia, Hillary, Olivia, Hadley, Alexa, Aiden, Etienne and Madhavi; and his stepsons, Mark, Tom and Scott Erickson.
