He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Fanning and Rose Kiernan Fanning; and his siblings, Edward Fanning, Eugene Fanning, Rosemary Manoni and Catherine Fanning.

He is survived by: his wife Norine Pitcavage Fanning; his children, Maureen E. Naples (Albert) of Hamden, MicheleT, James B. Fanning Jr. (Traci), Susan T. Hummel (Eric) of Cheshire and Kenneth E Fanning of Hamden; and his sister Margaret. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Mask and social distancing will be required.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas PL., Memphis, TN 38105.
