He was predeceased by: his wife Helen; his parents, Thomas Vanacore and Theresa Vanacore (Sorbo); and his siblings, Thomas and Rosalie.
He is survived by: his children, John D. Vanacore, Jr. (Jhenny) of Hamden, Debra Panela (Joseph) of East Haven and Robert Vanacore (Jennifer) of East Haddam; his grandchildren, Robert, Courtney, Joey, Michael, Jake, Eva, Sergio, Oscar and Camila; his great grandchildren, Logan, Leo, Mia, Zoe, Elijah and Eliseo; and his brother Joseph Vanacore (Estelle). He is also survived by nephews & nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Tunnel to Towers Foundation (https://t2t.org) or Spotty Dog Rescue https://spottydogrescue.org to honor all of the dogs the Vanacore family has had, including his beloved fur-baby Penny.
