José Alvárez Obituary

We announce the death of José Alvárez of Hamden, Connecticut, who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 68. José will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Sergio Carrion and Felicita Alvárez of Puerto Rico; his sons, Cesar Vázquez (Aracelis) of Hamden, Miguel Carrion of Puerto Rico and José Carrion of New Haven; his siblings, Aida Carrion, Carmen Nieves of Puerto Rico, Ali Carrion, Luz Carrion, Janet Nieves of New York City and William Nieves; his grandchildren, José Carrion, Jr., Miguel Carrion, Julien Carrion, Lillian Carrion, Ciara Vázquez and Nashalle Santaella; and his brothers, Ruben Carrion and Enrique Nieves.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Beaverdale Memorial Park (90 Pine Rock Ave, New Haven, CT 06514).
