She was predeceased by: her husband Rafael "Ralphie" Cabanas; her parents, Angel Uriarte Larragen and Maria Santamaria Menchacca; and her siblings, Angel Uriarte (Louise) and Carmen Sioufy (Henry).
She is survived by: her children, Diana Cabanas of Wallingford and Steven Cabanas (Laurel) of Meriden; and her grandchildren, Todd Ricci (Kristine), Heidi Ricci, Christoper Ricci (Kerri), Michelle Hastings (Scott), Stacy Cabanas and Keith Cabanas.
Not to anyone's surprise, when the senior center began reopening during the pandemic, Marie was so determined to attend that she either tried to walk or take the city bus, as the senior transportation still wasn't available.
She donated many of her creations to charity.
