With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia B. Brooks of Hamden, Connecticut, born in Abbeville, South Carolina, who passed away on July 19, 2020 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Cain Devlin and Mary Belcher Pettigrew. She is survived by: her spouse Suffragan Bishop Richard Brooks; her daughters, Michele Brooks and Dawn Bacote (Terry); her siblings, James Pettigrew (Geraldine), Albert Pettigrew (Gladys), Delores Pettigrew-Walters (Roger), Carol Blue and Margaret Pettigrew; her grandchildren, Nigel Saunders-Brooks, Skyler and Raven Bacote; and her great grandchildren, Ny'asia Sutherland, Carter, Ni'shay and Ni'jere Brooks. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a maximum of 125 people will be allowed to attend the funeral ceremony.
