He is survived by: his wife Antoinette Carter Hawthorne; his sister Martha Louise Hawthorne; his children, Crystal Denise Hawthorne, Kimberly Ann Hawthorne (Quinton), Shanika Nicole Hawthorne and Charles Edward Hawthorne, Jr.; his grandchildren, Zaria Ishani Hawthorne, Kinzley Na'shae Hawthorne, Morgan Alexandria Hawthorne, Aiden Kahmari Hawthorne and Kwynton Ikari Hawthorne; his sibling's children, Walter Eugene Irby (Dolly) of Petersburg, VA and Ginia Elizabeth Prosise (Calvin) of Prince George, VA; his sister-in-law Dorothy "Liddy" Hawthorne of Fayetteville, NC; and his friends, Edgar Best (Yvonne) of Petersburg, VA and James "Penny" Williams (Regina) of Petersburg, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
