We announce the death of Doris Foster Carter of Hartford, Connecticut, who passed away on September 29, 2026, at the age of 102. Doris will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Mami Miranda Woodard and Homer Foster; her husband John W. Carter; her son John B. Carter; and her siblings, Sally Ann McDuffie, Inez Brown, Ann Weston, Dora Frazier, Vivian Lee, Homer and Herbert Foster.
She is survived by: her children, Tracey W. Carter, Antoinette M. Carter (Martin) and David F. Carter; her grandson Jason C. Williams (Layla); her sister Virginia Manns; and her friends, Senora Riddick, Yvonne Brown and Samantha "My Lady" Morris. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and Woodland House neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ahern Funeral Home (180 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT 06105). A prayer will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
