He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Dandar and Susan Dandar; his brothers, Peter, Alex and David; his half-sister Mary; and also Ellen.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen Fitzpatrick; his grandson Timothy P. Dander (Tecie) of Florida; his daughter Sue E. Dander of Westerly; his grandchildren, Dorie, Bert, Britta, Hannah, Olivia and Sophia; his son David E. Dander (Lori) of Colchester; and his grandchildren, Michelle, Michael and Melissa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
