She was predeceased by: her parents, Vesta Matos and Anibal Matos; and her pet Harley. She is survived by: her daughter Brie Abate; her son-in-law Dino Sozzani; her son Jesse Abate; her daughter-in-law Catherine Abate; her grandchildren, Kayla, Alexis, Gabby and Jordyn; her great grandchildren, Natalie, Giovanni, Vincenzo and Antonio; her sister Karen Andres; and her brother-in-law William Andres. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the scholarship fund are welcomed and deeply appreciated.
