With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joao Faria Rafael (Hartford, Connecticut), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 11, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Joao may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rafael Antonio and Maria Amelia Faria; and his sister Maria Amelia Goncalves. He is survived by: his wife Natalia Pedro Rafael; his children, Regina Curtis (Paul Bushey) and George Rafael; his granddaughters, Ashley Curtis and Britney Curtis Moore (Tanar Moore); his great grandchild Owen Moore; and his sister Capitolina Paixao. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
