He is survived by: his daughters, Traci D. VanAllen and Katharyn L. VanAllen of Hartford, CT; his sister Julia Robinson of North Granby, CT; and his grandchildren, Alan J. Gibson, Jr., Sadiki S. Blake, Jr. and Shauna N. C. Allen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
