It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Doris Sibley of Harwinton, Connecticut, who passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Doris Sibley to show support.
She was predeceased by: her husband Harold R. Sibley, Jr.; her parents, Louis Ruwet and Alice Ruwet (Begey); her siblings, Vincent, Joseph, Edmund, George Ruwet and Eileen Kennedy; and her sons-in-law, Robert Galli and John Gawrych.
She is survived by: her children, Claire S. Galli of Hartford, Janet S. Gawrych of Pacific Beach, CA and Harold "Peter" Sibley, III (Joy) of San Diego, CA; and her grandchildren, Jaime Sparrow, Jaeson Galli, Kinson Gawrych, Kristopher Gawrych, Scott Sibley, Morgan Sibley, Samantha Gawrych and Rachel Robbins. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home (258 Prospect St, Torrington, CT 06790). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (78 Litchfield Rd, Harwinton, CT 06791). A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the St. Peter Cemetery (236 E Pearl Rd, Torrington, CT 06790).
