He is survived by: his sons, Charles F. Steinhilper, Jr. of Stamford and Robert A. Steinhilper (Elizabeth Carbone) of Old Saybrook; and his grandchildren, Taylor Weiffenbach (Michael), Benjamin Steinhilper and Carter Steinhilper (Jillian).
