He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo P. Dion and Madeline Dion (Mandeville); and his siblings, Mark Dion and Annmarie Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Elaine M. Dion (Kuppe); his children, Nicholas J. Dion (Jessica) of New London, Zachary P. Dion of Putnam and Elissa M. Alvord of Dayville; his brother Michael Dion (Anne) of Indianapolis, IN; and his grandson Dillon Alvord of Dayville.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gilman Funeral Home (104 Church St, Putnam, CT 06260). A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
