He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold M. Smith and Evelyn K. Smith (Meiklejohn); and his wife Cynthia "Cindy". He is survived by: his son Darren Smith of Salisbury, CT; his sister Marion Romeo (Fred) of Lakeville, CT; his nieces, Susan Romeo of West Cornwall, CT, Deanne (Jim Lyle) of Sharon, CT and Lori Romeo (Norman Leighty) of Goshen, CT; and his nephew David Romeo (Suzanne) of Quincy, MA. He is also survived by two cousins, four grand nephews, and two grand nieces.
