He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Prentice "R. P." Clayton and Willie Clayton (Davenport); his former life partner Mervonne "Bonnie" R. Clayton (Garrelts); his son Bobby Lee, Jr.; and his wife Mildred E. Clayton (Bodanza).

He is survived by : his son David L. Clayton (Cheryl). He is also survived by extended family and dear friends.
