He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Harriet Wheeler (Atwood); his parents, John H. Wheeler and Anna Wheeler (Rippel); his children, Charlene Saunders (Romaine) of Canterbury, Richard Wheeler (Lynda) of Sterling, Kimberly Campo (Joe) of North Stonington, Jeffrey Wheeler (Cathey) of Preston and Steven Wheeler (Angela) of East Lyme; his brother Robert Wheeler of Ledyard; and his grandson Justin Saunders. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
