She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Massameno and Catherine Massameno of Torrington, Connecticut.. She is survived by: her children, Sondra Puentes Strubhar and David Puentes; her daughters-in-law, Inga Lee (Kathryn Brewer) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Alison Karimi (Christina Brewer) of Torrington, Connecticut; her grandchildren, Rachel, Noah, Jackson, Giana and Luke; her siblings, Samuel Massameno and Catherine Fiorello; her brother-in-law Samuel; her brother John Massameno; her sister-in-law Grace; her siblings, David, Evangeline and Senge (Francis); Michael of Winchester, Connecticut. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thurston Rowe Funeral Home (283 Torrington Rd, Litchfield, CT 06759). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Bakerville Church (1087 Litchfield Turnpike, New Hartford, CT 06057).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, charities dear to Maria's heart.
