We announce the death of Richard J. Payne (Litchfield, Connecticut), born in Ottawa, Ontario, who passed away on July 18, 2026, at the age of 88. Richard will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Patricia Ann Sheridan (Sheridan); and his son Gregory. He is survived by: his children, Laura, Stephen, Christopher and Geoffrey; his grandchildren, Aiden, Benjamin, Olivia, Mark and Margaret; his sister Jo Ann; and his nephews, Adam and Nicholas.
In lieu of flowers, my father would ask one thing of you: that you read St. Louis Marie de Montfort's short work Friends of the Cross in his memory.
