He is survived by: his children, Nathaniel Doherty (Kimberly Cox) of Granby and Mary Kate Doherty (Matthew Strickland) of Queens, NY; his grandson Theo; his siblings, Mary Ellen Layden of Marietta, GA, John Doherty of Underhill, VT and Judge Joseph W. Doherty of Naugatuck; his friends, William and Barbara Kinnare of Madison; and his former wife Theresa Doherty of Old Saybrook. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
