He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Ellis and Olga Cowell (Weber); and his nephew Sean Harvey. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Cowell (Harvey); his son Donald "Donny" Scott Cowell, Jr. (Eileen) of Vernon; his grandsons, Scott Andrew Cowell and Jake William Cowell of Vernon; his brother Ralph Harmon Cowell (Nancy) of The Villages, FL; his brothers-in-law, William Jerry Harvey, Jr. (Geri) of Windsor and Robert Paul Harvey (Anne) of Greensburg, PA; his nieces, Christina Cowell, Lisa Brennan and Christina Harvey; and his nephew Robert Harvey.
