He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank J. Kowal and Mary M. Kowal (Kapolka); his siblings, Pauline Symkowicz (Edward) and Eugene Kowal (Sandra); and his siblings-in-law, Gerard Bisson, Armand Bisson, Bernadette Brassard, Leonard Bisson, Theresa Gagnon and Raymond Bisson.
He is survived by: his wife Anita Kowal (Bisson); his children, Jana Kowal Volpe of Granby and David P. Kowal (Lori) of East Harford; his grandchildren, Jered Volpe of Granby, Juliette Volpe of Granby, Kelsey Kowal of East Harford and Delaney Kowal of East Harford; and his brother-in-law Francis Bisson (Mary) of Vernon.
