He was predeceased by: his mother Henrietta "Hart" Rodican; and his brothers-in-law, Edward Tiernan, John "Jackie" Tiernan, Bill Harkness and Frank Iannotti.
He is survived by: his spouse Rhoddy; his children, Robert "Rob" Cowley (Karen) of Old Saybrook and Elizabeth "Liz" Thornton (Randy) of Vernon; his grandchildren, Cailin Cowley (Greg), Anna Cowley and Lexie Thornton; and his sisters, Linda Iannotti and Diane Harkness. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the John F Tierney Funeral Home (219 W Center St, Manchester, CT 06040). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. Lawrence Cemetery (280 Derby Ave, West Haven, CT 06516).
