He was predeceased by: his parents, Santiago Saitta (Sam) and Biaggina Saitta (Grace Russo); and his brother Joseph Saitta. He is survived by: his wife Alma Saitta (Roy); his sons, Salvatore Saitta, Jr. (Paula) of Willington and John Saitta (Lori) of Rockfall; his brother James Saitta of Columbia; his grandchildren, Lisa (Saitta), Hayes (Chris), Stephanie (Saitta), Courtney Otterbein (Michael) (Saitta), Michael Saitta (Ashlee) and Jennifer Talaniec (Michael) (Saitta); and his great grandchildren, Tyler Sayers, Cameron Sayers, Jocelyne Sayers, Logan Saitta, Grace Otterbein, Benjamin Otterbein, Abigail Sayers, Braden Hayes, Haylee Saitta and Charlotte Otterbein.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Sal's memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or the Halen & Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital.
