He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Fitzgerald and Kate Fitzgerald; and his cousin Sheila Packard. He is survived by: his wife Joanie; his brother Eddie; his sister-in-law Alice Marie; his uncle Bob; his children, Katie Oleksyn (Peter), Maureen Trzybinski (Michael), Sheila Fitzgerald and Tommy Fitzgerald (Candice); and his grandchildren, Maddie, Adella, Jack, Anna and Mikey.
