He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufo Melendez and Berta Sanchez; his son Aguedo "Blanco" Melendez; and his siblings, Rafaela, Luis, Jorge, Maria, Pedro and Rene Melendez.
He is survived by: his wife Leticia Melendez (Delgado); his children, Isai Melendez (Maribel) and Abigail Torres (Alan); his siblings, Aida Loiz (Concepcione), Ruth Melendez-Sanchez (Eliude), Alberta Melendez (Angel Luis Morales) and Juan Melendez-Sanchez (Lydia DeLeone); his grandchildren, Isai Melendez, Jr., Jonathan Melendez, Priscilla Flores, Jasmin and Matthew Torres; and his great grandchildren, Nolan, Leo and Anthony Melendez.
