He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Antionetta Russo (DeCristofaro); his parents, Diamonte Russo and Filomena Russo (Fontanella); his children, Filomena Russo, Joseph Russo (Sabrina), Rosa Ranno (Brian), Enza Maiorano (Giuseppe), Giovanni Russo (Nicole) and Tony Russo; his grandchildren, Nicholas, David, Christopher, Jeffrey, Victoria, Michael, Lillian, Pasquale, Angelo, Angelina, Joseph Jr., Stephanie, Vincenzo and Giovanni Jr.; his son Diamonte Russo; and his siblings, Giuseppe, Nicola, Maria and Giovanni Russo.
