He was predeceased by: his parents, Alcide Godard and Marie Rose Godard (Charlebois); his son-in-law Steven Tomazic; and his siblings, Raymonde Bessette, Reynald Godard, Claude Godard and Rene Godard.

He is survived by: his wife Alice Godard (Shepard); his children, Robert Godard (Carolyn), Kathy Tomazic, David Godard (Loretta) and Carol Godard; his grandchildren, Eric Godard, Brian Godard (Megan), Hilary Andreotta (Adrian), Wesley Godard, Aurelia Maceda (Eir) and Kyle Godard; his great grandchildren, Joshua Johnson, Tyler Andreotta, Noah Andreotta, Ava Andreotta, Elliot Godard, Hudson Godard and Wells Godard; and his brothers, Donald Godard, Laurier Godard and Marcel Godard. He is also survived by many nieces; and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home (450 Broad St, Meriden, CT 06450). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Rose of Lima Church (35 Center St, Meriden, CT 06450). The military honors was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM at the Sacred Heart Cemetery (250 Gypsy Ln, Meriden, CT 06450).
