With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hattie C. Rainey of Meriden, Connecticut, who passed away on September 1, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Hattie departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Hattie. Though Hattie may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Tremiew and Cecelia Sims Rollins; her siblings, Diane Lightner and George Rollins; and her granddaughter Jasmine Scott.
She is survived by: her sons, Waymon Harrison of Meriden and Walter Scott; her granddaughter Justine Haney; her great grandchild Eilon Scott; and her brothers, Vincent Rollins and Ernest Sims. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Wallingford Funeral Home (809 N Main Street Ext, Wallingford, CT 06492). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
