He was predeceased by : his parents, Alexander Cortes and Alicia Cortes (Candelas); and his sister Alice Cortes. He is survived by : his wife Helen Cortes (Moro); his children, Alexander Cortes and Andrea Cortes; his daughter-in-law Sherlly Cortes; and his grandchildren, Jaclyn Cortes, Gabriel Cortes, Logan Gagne, Natalia Cortes and Jillian St. Pierre.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wallingford Funeral Home (809 N Main Street Ext, Wallingford, CT 06492). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
