He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Burghardt and Gladys Burghardt (Harvey). He is survived by : his brother-in-law Dave Blakeslee; his sister Marie Blakeslee (David); his close friends, Jimmy, George Burghardt (Lien), Charles Burghardt (Susan), Robert Burghardt, Debbie Vilardi (Ralph) and David Burghardt; and also Sue McCartin. He is also survived by 8 great nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, donations in James' name may be made to the 'Tri Town Softball.

“In loving memory of James Burghardt, Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Jimbo will always be remembered by me as a fun and supportive cousin. Whenever I had a chance to be in his company, he was always kind and fun. I have special memories of how much love he shared with his siblings, especially Marie and Dave Blakeslee, and all the kids.
