We are sad to announce that, on March 20, 2026, at the age of 76, Janet G. Cleaves of Meriden, Connecticut passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Vernon E. Cleaves; her parents, Herbert Greenbacker and Helen Greenbacker (Hale); her nephew Nathan Greenbacker; her father-in-law Vernon K. Cleaves; her cousins, Heather Payne and Charles F. Greenbacker; and her brothers-in-law, Richard McCoy and Nick Braico.
She is survived by: her children, Jennifer Farina (Antonio L.) and Michael B. Shaw (Brenda); her mother-in-law Patsy Cleaves; her sister-in-law Madeline Cleaves Hendricks; her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Eva), Kyle Shaw, Wade, Connor DeMerchant (Elizabeth), Bella Farina, Nicole and Ashley Kobrin; her great grandchildren, Leo Shaw, Ashton, Jameson, Whelan, Madison DeMerchant, Ava, Carmelo, Jaxon and Lucca Cardona; and her siblings, Barbara McCoy Braico, Herbert "Buddy" Greenbacker (Betsy) and Betsey DuBois (John). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large extended family.
