He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Plonka and Leopoldine Plonka (Piacek Kijowski); his brother-in-law Henry Polak; and his sisters, Johanna Kijowski, Mary (John Buziak) and Roma (John Materkowski) of Meriden.
He is survived by: his children, Richard H. Plonka and Christine (Chris Hoffman); his grandchildren, Briana, Brandon and Bridget; and his sister Alice Polak. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.
