She is survived by: her brothers, Burt Stevens of Woodbury and Richard Stevens of Waterbury; and her nieces and nephews, Helen Bird (Ray), John Maxwell (Bernadette), Beau Maxwell, Shep Stevens (Jen) and Dr. Laura Chan.

“I was one of a group of four of Drea's best friends at Cornell University-New York Hospital School of Nursing. We were inseparable at school and shared all our adventures at school and in NYC together. Going out for dinner or for drinks, visiting museums. Drea was always so upbeat. I last saw her about ten years ago. My husband and I were on one of his old car trips in Connecticut (I live in Georgia) and Drea came down to our hotel and had dinner with us. We had a lot of catching up to do.”
