With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alexander Eugene Bartell of Middletown, Connecticut, born in Florence, South Carolina, who passed away on September 21, 2023 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Bartell and Addie Lou Bartell (Keith); his siblings, John Henry, James, Walter, Herman Bartell, Ella Mae Hyman and Eara Mae Jenkins (Bartell); and his sister-in-law Susie Bartell.
He is survived by: his spouse Lamona Bartell (West); his children, Tabu A. West of Middletown, Lemont T. West (Sasha) of Windsor, Angela West of Jacksonville, FL, Tomeca West of Middletown and Tamu West of Middletown; his sister Ivory Lewis of Middletown; and his siblings-in-law, Maxine Pope, Barbara Bartell, Ella Bartell and Sammie Jenkins. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
