We are sad to announce that, on April 1, 2023, at the age of 94, Esther C. Peterson Harris (Middletown, Connecticut), born in Grifton, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her sister Ollie Brock; her children, Lori Ann Harris of Tolland, CT and Edward Lewis Harris (Janeen Harris); her grandchildren, Tyler, Lincoln of Middletown, CT and Jackie of Hartford, CT; and her sisters-in-law, Pearlie Peterson Grifton of North Carolina, Lorretta Peterson of South Carolina and Georgia Mattie Manning Gaffney of South Carolina. She is also survived by her family, friends, colleagues, neighbors.
As we celebrate her long and impactful life let us take comfort in knowing that she leaves behind a legacy of wisdom, love and immeasurable contributions to the field of education, beyond the classroom as an artist and writer of children's books.
