With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret Smith of Middletown, Connecticut, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 11, 2026 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Merritt and Margaret Merritt (Hamm); her husband Leonard F. Smith; her son Gary F. Smith; and her sister Elizabeth L. Merritt.
She is survived by: her children, Kathleen A. Marco (Robert) of West Warwick, RI and Michael L. Smith (Stacy) of West Newbury, MA; her daughter-in-law Gabriela M. W. Smith of Glenview, IL; her sister Dorothy A. Merritt of Trumbull, CT; her grandchildren, Amanda Jastrebski (Matthew), Alexander Smith, Anthony Marco, Joshua Marco and Rachel Smith; and her great grandchildren, Anthony Marco, Julian Marco and Grace Jastrebski.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
