He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Burr (Ceder); his parents, Floyd C. Burr and Marion Kwasniewski (Rich); his son James Burr; his grandchildren, Luke Burr and Kyle Paluha; and his brother Floyd Burr.
He is survived by: his children, Tracy Caffery (Robert) of Clinton, Vernon E. Burr, Jr. of Meriden, Alan Hewitt-Burr (Mary Jean "MJ") of Middletown, Gary Burr of Middletown and Brian Burr (Loree) of Middletown; his grandchildren, Melissa Hammons, Kevin Burr, Nicole Burr, Jarrod Burr, Edward Hewitt, Symone Burr, Mariah Hewitt, Amber-Lyn Burr, Shane Hewitt, Kortney Burr, Alexander Paluha and Alison Paluha; and his pets, Penny and Mandy. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
Friends may gather prior to the service from 5 to 7 p.m. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to American Cancer Society 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr.
