He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Nelson and Arline Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Betty Nelson; his daughters, Jennifer DeForge and Melissa Nelson; his grandchildren, David Deforge Jr., Shane DeForge and Isabelle DeForge; and his siblings, Susan Stonaha and Bruce Nelson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
