He is survived by: his daughters, Bridgette Patrice Russell of Hamden and Lisa Millicent Charles (Dexter) of Sarasota; his daughters-in-law, Jestina Russell of Frederick and Judi Russell of Houston, Texas.; his siblings, Ronney Ramey of Oak Forest, James Ramey of Houston, Texas and Paulette Russell of McKeesport, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Kia Maria Whitaker of Bloomfield, Connecticut, Marcus Troy Whitaker of Trenton, Joseph John Delbo (Ady) of Hopewell, Summer Ashley Martin of New Haven, Connecticut, Trevor Russell Martin of Hamden, Connecticut, Dylan Hollingsworth Charles of New York, Candice Millicent Charles of Los Angeles, California, Adam Edgar Charles of Rensselaer, Lacoy Leslie Francis of Frederick, Maryland, Jacob Shayne Russell of Frederick, Maryland, Edgar Russell, IV of Frederick, Maryland and Christopher Lukas Russell of Frederick, Maryland.; and his great grandchild Zionna Kierah White of Bloomfield, Connecticut.. A celebration of life was held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Milford (28 North St, Milford, CT 06460).
He volunteered with social and health service agencies, serving on the boards of the American Heart Association in Maryland and New York and the New Haven–based Christian Community Action Agency.
