He was predeceased by: his father Reese Benjamin Powell; and his son Glenn Powell. He is survived by: his children, Patti Carr (Frank) of Southport, NC, Nancy Scherer of Martinez, GA, Peggy Larsson (Bob) of Milford, CT and Tom Powell (Cathy) of Southbury, CT; his grandchildren, Chris, Meghan (Tim Gray), Brian Carr (Ashley), Sarah Larsson (Michael Crowley), Amanda Scherer, Glenn (Maureen), Julia and Emily Powell; and his great grandchildren, Ethan, Shane, Cami Carr and James Crowley.
